This Rococo wall-mounted gilt limewood étagère crafted in the 19th century; as were the Meissen porcelain figures pictured in the 15" display windows.

Provenance

Previously displayed in the Schloss Charlottenburg, the largest and most beautiful palace in Berlin, this étagère was gifted to the Viennese actress, Valerie von Martens (1894-1986), by Prince August Wilhelm of Prussia (1882-1951). Prince Wilhelm was the last crowned prince of the Kingdom of Prussia and the German Empire, who was forced to abdicate the throne at the end of World War I.
